During a monitoring conducted in April it was revealed that there is increased deforestation in Matiiri forest caused People who neighboring the forest who cut logs of trees for charcoal and firewood.

Area weather
Here in kyarusozi -kyenjojo district , we have been experiencing heavy rainfall throughout since 25th ,March upto today 30th,April, 2022.This has totally lead to loss of homes ( collapse of houses) , destruction of crops , poor transport means among others which has affected people’s works

Alleged intentions harm to wildlife
On 27/02/202,at around mid day .I found two men carrying nets to trap animals in the forest, These people were also being accompanied by their dogs,as a good idicator, that they were going to hunt wild animals from the forest.This took place in Matiri forest reserve found in Kihura sub-county , Kyenjojo District.
